Working with a classmate, I structured and compared locations for a hypothetical logistics company expanding into sea freight.

Approach

A ranking built from choices.

We used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), pairwise comparisons, criteria weights, and weighted rankings in Excel to compare the three alternatives.

Riga ranked first under the selected AHP weights in this university case study. The result applies to the hypothetical expansion and the assumptions used.

Rankings depend on the chosen criteria and weights. The lesson was to document assumptions and check comparison consistency before relying on a ranking.
