03 / Academic assignment
Production and logistics optimisation
Working with a classmate, I modelled how to allocate limited resources, plan production, and meet delivery requirements in a university assignment.

Approach
Make the limits explicit.
The assignment used linear programming, resource constraints, transportation modelling, and sensitivity reports. Solver helped examine a production plan within the model’s limits.
- 01Define the production objective and resource constraints
- 02Model transportation and delivery requirements
- 03Use Excel Solver to find a feasible optimum
- 04Read sensitivity reports to understand changing assumptions
Results & lessons
A result within the classroom model.
1,050Optimal objective value
The checked production model achieves an optimal objective value of 1,050 while satisfying its resource constraints. This is a classroom model result.
The lesson was to define constraints carefully and examine how resource limits and changing assumptions affect the solution.
